Blue Canyon Country Club (Lakes Course) Local Rules

The rules governing this game of golf shall be those currently adopted by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, unless otherwise modified by the following local rules:


OUT OF BOUNDS (RULE 18)
  • The boundary of the course is defined by the area in the white stakes.

PENALTY AREA (RULE 17)
  • Yellow penalty areas are defined by yellow stakes, and/or painted yellow lines.
  • Red penalty areas are defined by red stakes, and/or painted red lines.

DROP AREA
  • Any ball hit into the penalty area may be played from the designated drop area.

ABNORMAL COURSE CONDITIONS - FREE RELIEF (RULE 16.1)
  • The player may take relief without penalty under Rule 16 if the ball lies in on or interferes by the following obstruction: all kiosk, control boxes, distance markers, tee signs, manhole covers, service tracks, pathways, exposed tree roots, tire marks, sprinkle heads, drainage sumps, control valves and temporary water. Players take relief by dropping a ball in a relief area based on the nearest point of complete relief.

ALL GARDEN BEDS ARE NO PLAY ZONE (RULE 2.4)
  • If the ball lies in or touches the area, relief must be taken in the relief area without penalty under Rule 16.1.

PACE OF PLAY ETIQUETTE
  • All groups are responsible to keep up with the group in front. If a group loses a clear hole and it is delaying the group behind, it should invite the group behind to play through, irrespective of the number of players in that group. Pace of Play time sheet is located in the golf cart.

ETIQUETTE
  • Please ensure that bunkers are raked, divots replaced with sand, and pitch marks repaired. Always enter and exit the bunkers from the lowest point.

GOLFING DRESS CODE
  • Male golfers must wear appropriate pants, a collared shirt with sleeves or a round neck shirt.
  • Female golfers must wear golf-appropriate shirts, pants, shorts or skirts designed for playing golf only.
